in the beginning ... there's pop.

The story was taking the scene in a different side of Jakarta that we know now, the Indie scene was on a hype at that moment, lots of band playing at the pub or Youth center at the weekend, the world especially Jakarta was drowned in indie or underground music, whether its Brit, Ska, Punk, Hard Core, Grind Core, everyone was involve, all the gang was in the house, indie music is like everything at that moment.

It all started in the late 1999 in suburban side of east Jakarta, when Tamie the lad behind the drum met Remon the man behind the mic by Mogen, Tamie High School friends. Mogen at that time (like everyone else at that moment) try to make an indie band, they're playing ethnically brit pop music such as Cornershop, Kula Shaker, etc. After a few gigs then, they're trying to compose their own song (but never record any one of them) who make a pretty damn well acceptance by the brit scene at Jakarta.

Few years later, if i'm not mistaken around 2001 or 2002, the indie scene around Jakarta (and Indonesia) having a major break down, people get over ratted with indie music music chart are back to the hand of the mainstream, the band broke up, leaving only a guitarist and a drummer (and an unaccomplished dream).

At that moment, although the band already broke up, Remon and Tamie still hanging out together, they used to stay up all night talking 'bout music and stuff without really playing it. Theres a sense of attached to the old scene that they cant let go, theres a fear inside of them, that if they're playing they will end up playing in the old sound that they used to play. They still thinking in the old fashion way about the band, vocalist, a guitar , bassist, drummer, etc. They having an idea that even them self afraid to realize it. On those static moment, 2004-2005, Tamie and remon join in a band called Jammer Fever, playing alt-garage music under influence of Weezer. Not satisfied with the sound and basic idea of Jammer Fever, Tamie and Remon secretly writing and compose their own music while looking for a new sound, Tamie wrote the lyric, Remon make the music and then together they compose it to they own term of music.

The name "white is boring" itself found in Tamie's sketch and doodle (they use to play in Tamie's Room with lyrics, sketch and doodle all over the place with old electric Guitar and a keyboard for the drums). If you ask the reason why they naming them self White is boring, they will answer it " cos it sounds provocative ! if you hear someone says WHITE IS BORING! what would you think? I mean, this world filled up with hypocrite people, and a question like WHITE IS BORING could show the real you. Either you a Racists, Fascist, Socialist, or even Righties Fundamentalist, and I really really hope that our music could affect people on the same way too".
Around 2005 they try to recorded all of the material by conventionally, but it turns out horrible, the spontaneous essence doesn't come out, it sounds like they're faking it. After several bad experience on the music studio with some "common" operator/sound engineer, they took a radical style in recording, they decide it to do it D.I.Y on the room that they use to write and composed.

In mid 2006, "Suburban White Dogs" finally fix, the next process is the hardest, find a label or
Radio Station that will play their music. And it is the hardest part, 'cos up until now they still can't find any label or Radio Station that want to play their track (sad indeed). Although singles like "Josephine", "in the basement", and the pop-punk-garage sing along "People" are well received by friends.

Later on, on 2007 they recorded they're (supposed to be) second album "Between me and Your Guns", the album itself failed to release, By now, 2010, they change the plan from an album to an E.P (again), which will be title "Ignorance is a deadly Gun", it will consist a few track from the unreleased "Between me and your Guns" and few track from the upcoming album "IGNORANTIA".

It's an E.P !!! (again?)

So after a small discussion on last Sunday, we finally decide it to make Relapse and Black Feather into an E.P, plus you get some of the Borings new material for the new upcoming album.

One problem solved. The E.P itself will be titled Ignorance is a Deadly Gun, will released on July 2010 (I hope), and will consist of 5 to 7 track. Here is a sneak peak of the Deadly Gun cover.

Well, for me personally, I really hope that people could see our musical evolve, and most of all enjoying those track as we enjoy wrote and playing it.

Last but not least, please write some comment in this blog, anything !
